Eason Hu, twelve-year-old, started playing piano at the age of six under Coral Solomon-Berkovsky and started piano lessons with Dr. Michael Berkovsky at age of nine. By the age of ten, Eason was accepted into The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists at The Royal Conservatory. He earned the First Place Award for Piano Concerto at OMFA Provincial Finals 2023 and 2024. He also received the Chopin Trophy at CCC Toronto International Music Festival 2022. He is one of the finalists in the junior division of 6th Canadian Chopin Piano Competition in 2025. He was awarded first prize in numerous local competitions, including the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival, North York Music Festival, Unionville Music Festival, and CCC.
In addition to his achievements on the piano, Eason started learning violin at the age of seven with Jing Ye. He was the second-place winner of Canadian Music Competition in both 2022 and 2023 and Grand Prize Winner for strings at CCC. In 2024, Eason began studying violin with Marie Bérard and Jonathan Crow at The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy. He has also been accepted as a violinist in the Toronto Youth Symphony Orchestra for the 2024/25 season.
Outside of music, Eason enjoys playing soccer and badminton, reading books, and collecting Pokémon cards.
