Alston Leung is a 16-year-old violinist from Hong Kong and Toronto. He has been studying under the tutelage of Ms. Hyejin Chung at TN Studio for over 14 years and more recently at the Royal Conservatory of Music with Prof. Atis Bankas. He has also worked with esteemed pedagogues including Ms. Margaret Lysy, Mr. Bela Horvath, Ms. Alexandra Korobkina, Tatiana Gridenko, and Takako Nishizaki (first student of the Suzuki Method).

Alston made his solo debut at Carnegie Hall in 2023 at age 13. He has appeared with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra as a soloist, participated in masterclasses with musicians from the TSO, HK Phil, and SSO, and worked with renowned ensembles such as Camerata Salzburg. He is actively involved with the OPSM orchestra, troupe, and technique classes. He has been a member of the Musicus Society in Hong Kong, the Haw Par music ensembles, and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra. He also served as concertmaster of the HKIS Middle School Orchestra and participated in international AMIS festivals.

He has volunteered weekly at OPSM classes and organized numerous benefit recitals with his sister, raising over $60,000 USD for mental health awareness. He has also performed to support the Ukraine war relief fund and UNICEF humanitarian missions in Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen.

In the summers of 2022-2024, Alston attended the Heifetz International Music Institute Program. He has attended other international summer music programs in China, Canada, US, and Germany. Among his competition successes are 1st Prize at the Swedish Junior Classical Music Competition 1st Runner-Up, Singapore Raffles International Competition, American Protégé Romantic Classical Junior Competition, Rocky Mountain Violin Competition, and multiple Hong Kong Music Festivals. He holds a Licentiate Diploma of Distinction from Trinity College London.

Outside of music, Alston enjoys swimming, hockey, fencing and speed cubing.
